Fleet administrators can sharpen their skills at Fleet & Mobility Live, a free two-day event held at the NEC in Birmingham on October 6 and 7.
Career-focused sessions for fleet administrators
The Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) will lead a session aimed at newcomers and anyone needing a refresher on core fleet-management practices, providing a structured overview of daily responsibilities and long-term planning techniques.
On Tuesday at noon, the AFP’s Fleet Academy will run “New to Fleet? Understand the key pillars of effective management.” Topics include licence verification, health-and-safety compliance, risk mitigation, grey fleet responsibilities and drafting a vehicle handbook, all presented with real-world examples that illustrate common pitfalls and best-practice solutions.
Wednesday’s 11 a.m. slot is titled “Spotlight on fleet admin – become an essential part of your fleet team.” It will address back-office duties that keep operations running, offering practical tips to help administrators advance.
Stephen Briers, editor of Fleet News, spoke about the visitor advisory board. The board stressed that admins should attend to learn career progression.
Broader program and exhibitor showcase
Other presentations will explore decarbonisation best practices, driver-behaviour management, wellbeing, EV-charging rollout, artificial-intelligence applications and strategies to minimise vehicle wear, giving participants a glimpse of how technology is reshaping daily fleet operations.
Exhibitors will include a record number of manufacturers displaying the latest vehicles and technologies alongside key fleet-service suppliers, allowing visitors to compare specifications, test interactive demos and discuss service contracts directly with product specialists.
The programme also covers cost control, fleet performance, finance and human-resources topics, ensuring relevance for every member of a fleet team, from entry-level clerks to senior logistics planners.
Networking and resources on the show floor
More than 100 exhibitors will be present, giving attendees a chance to evaluate new products and services in person, test software interfaces, and discuss warranty terms with knowledgeable representatives.
