The new Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo is now available in the UK, offering a 205mph top speed that places it firmly in the supercar category rather than the standard luxury saloon segment. First revealed at the Geneva motor show, the high-performance model features a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 600 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in four seconds flat.
Engineering details and performance
Alpina optimised the engine’s airflow with a wide-bore intake system and upgraded pistons and spark plugs to achieve higher output than the standard BMW V8 applications. The firm worked directly with ZF to strengthen the gear clusters and torque converter in the eight-speed automatic transmission. Power is sent to the rear wheels only, unlike the all-wheel-drive BMW M760Li which uses a V12 engine producing 625 horsepower. The car includes Switchtronic buttons on the steering wheel for manual gear selection.
UK-specification models are all supplied in long-wheelbase form with air suspension as standard. The system includes an Alpine Sport+ mode that lowers the body by 20mm. Alpina recalibrated the active rear steering, power steering, and traction control to match the vehicle’s characteristics. Wheel sizes vary by position, with 8.5×20-inch wheels up front and 10×20-inch wheels at the rear. A 21-inch wheel option is also available for those who prefer a larger diameter.

Interior appointments include Nappa leather trim and the brand’s signature blue and green stitching. Exterior styling features a subtle body kit and an optional “Deco set” stripe package. Alpina’s ability to tailor specific wheel and tire combinations suggests the ride quality will match or even exceed the standard 7-series, a benefit of the single-tuned setup rather than offering a wide range of suspension configurations.
Price and exclusivity
Despite the high performance, the vehicle is priced at £115,000. This figure undercuts BMW’s M760Li luxury flagship by more than £17,000. The M760Li hits 62 mph in 3.7 seconds, while the Alpina is faster at its maximum speed. The UK allocation is limited to a small number of vehicles, which adds to the model’s exclusivity appeal for buyers.
While the Alpina lacks the four extra cylinders found in the M760Li, the engineering adjustments allow the B7 Bi-Turbo to reach a top speed of 205 mph. This places the car among a rare group of saloons capable of breaking the 200 mph barrier. The availability of such a vehicle in the UK market creates a distinct option for buyers seeking high-speed performance within a luxury sedan format.
