A writer who is 5 feet, 10 inches tall found it difficult to get comfortable in the 2026 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss. Despite the truck’s roomy interior and ample headroom, the writer’s seating options seemed limited due to the steering wheel’s limited telescoping ability.
The writer noted that even with the wheel extended as far as it could go, their legs felt crunched up in the footwells. If they pulled the seat back to give their legs some relief, the wheel was then too far away.
The Evotex seats, while nice to look at and pleasant to the touch, felt overpadded and bounced the writer out of the seat rather than letting them settle in.
Despite these issues, the writer found the Colorado to be a good truck, with athletic road manners, a reasonable price, and a torquey turbo-four engine. However, the ergonomic issues may be a problem for some drivers.

The writer consulted with Caleb Jacobs, a truck expert who is 6 feet, 5 inches tall and 290 pounds, to see if he had experienced any similar issues with the Colorado. Jacobs reported that the truck had worked well for him when he tested a Colorado ZR2 Bison a few years ago.
Ergonomics are a personal matter, and what works for one person may not work for another. The writer concluded that while the Colorado is a good truck, it may not be the best fit for everyone, including themselves.
Caleb Jacobs’ experience with the Colorado ZR2 Bison suggests that the truck can accommodate taller drivers.
They found the Colorado to be a good truck, but the ergonomic issues made it less comfortable for them to drive.
