There are no physical buttons on the dashboard surface, a move that simplifies the visual clutter of the cabin. Instead of a traditional infotainment unit, the driver relies on the large display ahead of them for navigation and speed. The design team also omitted a screen for the front passenger seat, a decision that aligns with the car’s focus on the driver’s experience. While the specific name “Type 01” was confirmed earlier, the decision to use a single digit in the model designation has drawn some criticism. The brand uses the word “Type” in its historical lineup of sports cars, including the C-Type and E-Type. The “0” represents zero emissions, and the “1” signifies the first vehicle in this new electric era. The company describes the dashboard’s surface design as a “strikethrough motif” that will be visible on the production model.

The Type 01 is positioned as a four-door grand tourer, departing from the two-door concept that inspired it. Jaguar has confirmed the car will produce over 1,000 metric horsepower and 959 lb ft of torque thanks to its new platform architecture. The vehicle will debut at this year’s Monterey Car Week in California. It is scheduled to appear at the Pebble Beach Concours on Sunday, 16 August, ahead of a public reveal in New York on 6 October.
