Ford introduced a new 2027 variant of its electric SUV, the Ford Mustang Mach-E Trail, aimed at drivers who need a capable soft-roader rather than a track-focused machine.
Customers can add the $2,295 option to a Select eAWD Mach-E. This package supplies a reinforced steering rack that improves durability on uneven terrain, 19-inch wheels and Michelin CrossClimate 2 all-weather tires that maintain grip in rain, snow and dry conditions. Exterior cues include graphics and black trim along the lower front fascia, giving the vehicle a rugged appearance.
Ride height is raised by 0.8 inch at the front, providing additional approach angle for obstacles. The front lift matches the Rally model, allowing the vehicle to clear larger bumps without scraping.
The rear is lifted a full 1 inch compared with the lowered GT version, which helps maintain stability when carrying gear. This rear increase is slightly less than the lift on the Rally variant, striking a balance between comfort and off-road capability.
The trim comes with a standard 400-watt, 120-volt on-board power outlet. Campers can run accessories such as portable fridges or lights directly from the vehicle’s battery without needing a separate generator, simplifying outdoor stays.
A vehicle equipped with the upgraded package lists at $47,335 after destination and delivery fees. This amount places it close to the price of comparable gasoline-powered soft-roaders, making the electric option financially competitive for shoppers weighing fuel savings against upfront cost.
The company also announced a lower-cost front motor for AWD versions and two new paint colors for 2027. The smallest battery option has been dropped, so every model now uses the extended-range pack with 88 kWh usable capacity, or 91 kWh on GT and Rally variants. The Select RWD model with that battery starts at $39,995 before fees, offering a more affordable entry point for customers.
