The Jeep Wrangler Scrambler SRT Concept rolled out at the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas, showcasing a brand-new independent front suspension, a long-travel rear setup and a powerful V8 powerplant. Tim Kuniskis explained that the model is slated for production and will play a role in Stellantis’ broader turnaround strategy, which aims to introduce 60 fresh models and refresh 50 existing ones by the end of the decade.

Measurements reveal 15 inches of rear wheel travel and 14 inches up front, with Fox 2.5-inch dampers installed at each corner. Kuniskis added that the front-independent geometry should improve stability, sharpen steering response and give drivers better wheel control when tackling high-speed off-road terrain.

Key Features

The independent front system was engineered with input from off-road racing champion Casey Currie, whose experience in desert competition helped shape the design. The technology first appeared on the Jeep Striker Concept unveiled in March, and later proved its capability when Currie installed it in his custom Gladiator “Striker,” which captured a class win at the NORA 500 event.

Another standout element is the 180-degree reversible rear jump seats. These seats fold flat backward, creating a level surface that can serve as a makeshift bed. They latch onto floor-mounted hooks, offering a flexible arrangement that can be reconfigured in seconds for cargo or passenger needs.

Design and Performance

Built on the Wrangler chassis, the concept borrows the shark-nose front end that first appeared on the Gladiator and earlier Jeep models. It rides on beadlock wheels wrapped in 37-inch BFGoodrich mud-terrain tires, delivering grip on loose surfaces. Beneath the hood sits a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 delivering 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, numbers that place the truck among the most powerful off-roaders in its class.

Kuniskis described the vehicle as “freaking cool” and likened it to a “Swiss Army Knife” of trucks, emphasizing its blend of rugged capability and everyday practicality. The combination of extreme suspension travel, removable seating and a high-output engine makes the model attractive to enthusiasts who demand versatility.

Production and Pricing

While Jeep has not announced a firm launch date or final price tag, analysts estimate the cost will exceed $65,000 and that the first units could appear before 2030. Production is expected to take place at the Toledo Assembly Complex in Ohio, the same facility that currently builds the Wrangler and Gladiator.
